We all need a break from time to time. Families and children need time apart. It is important for children to have the opportunity to spend time with other significant adults in their life - grandparents, aunts and uncles, family friends, childhood friends, birth family, etc. Parents need alone time, together time, and time to catch up on errands, chores, etc.
Whenever possible, Right Turn can help you identify those known to you and/or your children that would be willing and able to provide childcare.
Sometimes there are additional challenges in identifying informal childcare providers when children have experienced significant trauma and loss. In those situations, Right Turn can connect families to more formal respite services and can provide financial assistance in paying for respite services (limited).
